Dr Kris Rampersad

Dr Kris Rampersad is an Independent International MultiMedia Innovator, Scholar, Strategist, Educator, Journalist, Development Specialist, Researcher and Content Producer. She is engineering social change through safeguarding knowledge heritage with an integrated approach to transmission forms of education, media and culture. She is certified in AI, Machine Learning, is a Woman Techmakers' Ambassador, Google & WorldPulse Digital Skills Ambassador and UNESCO and National Geographic certified educator/facilitator, Commonwealth Professional Scholar developing innovative tools, techniques and teachings that are user friendly and adaptable from pre-school to policymaking. She is pioneer of the new genre the MultiMedia Micro Epic through her short biopic film, One Night To Bloom. She is also adapting this innovative approach to the epic form through other creative representations that include fiction, poem-songs, children’s fables and fantasy literature along with documentary and non-fiction, storifying and case stories that reach from pre-school to policy makers. Blending conventional and new media She also developed a number of initiatives accommodate conventional modes of oral and literary expression to empower civil society, grassroots communities and the professional sectors in using new media and award schemes to recognize women, journalists and writers. Dr Kris Rampersad is an independent development specialist on SIDS and the Global South, global thought leader, scholar, journalist, filmmaker, author, educator, researcher on interconnected Global Caribbean Culture. She was a Commonwealth Professional Fello and has served as former Vice President of the Commonwealth Journalists’ Association, President of UNESCO Education Commission, Vice President of UNESCO Programme and External Relations Commission and Vice President of the Consultative Body of UNESCO InterGovernmental Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage and Media Specialist/Adviser to the Commonwealth Foundation. She straddles spheres of media, culture and education as an expert on integrated sustainable developmental issues of the CARIBBEAN, SIDS, Developing World and the Global South. A Commonwealth Professional Fellow an Fellow of Wolfson College, Cambridge, Indian Institute of Mass Communication and Foreign Press Centre with a PhD in Pre and Post Colonial Literature, she invented the world’s newest creative genre, the MultiMedia MicroEpic that adopts and adapts the long-form classical epic for short-form new media which she piloted to the Commonwealth Scholars Forum at the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
