Caribbean opportunities to access the World Regions of Gastronomy Platform will be provided in a free preparatory public Webinar on July 29, 2020.
As part of our Global, Local Caribbean Post Pandemic Covid Challenge, the Glocal Knowledge Pot Heritage Academy teams up with the International Institute for Gastronomy, Culture, the Arts, Culture and Tourism, IGCAT, for the free international webinar.
Diane Dodd PhD, President of the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism (IGCAT)/ co-founder of the World Region of Gastronomy Platform and Region of Gastronomy Award will share strategies on how to create sustainable food and culture tourism opportunities post-Covid 19.
The Webinar on Strategies and solutions for sustainable cultural and food tourism from the World Region of Gastronomy Platform will take place on DATE: Wednesday 29 July 2020 at 11.00h (Caribbean; 17.00h CET) through the GOTOMEETING LINK: https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/245466397
The webinar is a short presentation on strategies, best practise and sustainable solutions being rolled out in awarding Regions of Gastronomy. It will provide information on opportunities to become a founding member of the World Region of Gastronomy Platform and set out on candidacy to be awarded 1st Caribbean Region of Gastronomy.
The presentation will be followed by an open question and answer session chaired by International Cultural Heritage Educator/Facilitator, award winning Journalist , Author and Creator of the GLoCaL Knowledge Pot, Dr Kris Rampersad.
Who may benefit?
This 30-minute presentation will be of interest to business leaders, planners, decision and policy makers, associations and operators in hotel, restaurant, tourism, culture, heritage, agriculture, and sectors interested in developing the gastronomy and culinary tourism potential of their region.
Waiver of Fees
In solidarity with regions suffering from loss of tourism during the Covid-19 pandemic IGCAT – international Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism has waived the joining fee for 2020 (for regions in lesser-economically developed countries.)
IGCAT will share examples of the great results witnessed in Awarded Regions of Gastronomy and current ideas on how to move out of the current Covid-19 crisis stronger and prouder.
