Novel Forms Introduced in new Multimedia Epic Genre
Film enthusiasts at Latino & Native American Film Festival get glimpse into reenvisioned Mother Continent
Mother Continent injects new meaning to traditional triads, as it introduces the second in the triadic, One Night To Bloom, Mother Continent and To The Anthropocene, An Ode in the pioneering new creative genre by Dr Kris Rampersad, The MultiMedia Micro Epic, is being showcased at Latino & Native American Film Festival this week.
Mother Continent – The MultiMedia Micro Epic builds on and expands the personal One Night To Bloom biopic into wider all encompassing spheres, from its protagonist’s cosmic perch that provides perspectives on the three realms and five continents.
The female Tiresias (Greek) in Mother Continent, retrieves and reconnects lost history heritage and literatures, rights the skews and errors and fills the gaps to stitch, mend and bridge the continental rift between island and motherlands. It draws on folk legends, songs, stories, history and heritage, séance and science, truth and alternative truths, fact and fiction.
The introductory short hints at the unveiling of the untold story of pre-Pandemic world from The First Americans, the ‘Banwari’ and other First Peoples as lost, distorted, fragmented and missing links in eastern and western civilisations, before culminating in the third element – of the triadic MultiMedia Micro Epic – the multi-polar, To The Anthropocene, An Ode
Mother Continent – The MultiMedia Micro Epic continues to build and expand the classical epic genre and its internal and external forms and formats for multimedia.
Mother Continent particularly amalgamates adapts and engenders with imagination, reality and symbolism the triad beyond themes, theory and theology from monocultural into multi-cultural forms and formats. It demonstrates new potentials for its utilization as a mnemonic/memory device for retrieving knowledge and information from myriad sources, including those buried in codes, symbols, imagery and allusions that draws audience in from their age/experience level. It layers and draws in the range of knowledge sources through associations in classical music, literature, spirituality, architecture, art, design, anatomy, astronomy, archeology, medicine and other disciplines to recognize new relationships and associations therein towards an inclusive creative aesthetic.
