Clear evidence of the revolution in perspectives sweeping the globe, not the least of which is at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, those dubbed in recent developmental terminology as Small Island Developing States – SIDS – have recommended a change in designation to Big Ocean Sustainable States during the UNESCO General Assembly in Paris, France

It provided a platform of equity for the convergence of small islands of the Caribbean, the Pacific and elsewhere to leverage away from representations on the bases of needs to their strengths.
