Even as countries release lists of essential services in justification of mandates that people stay at home to prevent the spread of the disease, the Novel Corona Virus may be doing the Planet an essential service in forcing many to withdraw and hopefully to reflect on their value, or lack thereof, to the planet.
The Novel Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Novel Corona Virus 2 (SARS Cov2) is challenging not only health care providers – who are putting their lives on the line minute-by-minute to selflessly save the life of a few, if not the many, but also our intellectuals, scientists, governments, social systems. In one swoop, SARS nCov2, Covid-19 aka the Novel Corona Virus is testing all and forcing all to become relevant and essential to the planet which gives us the air we breathe.

The LOLWOW GLoCal StoryScience Knowledge Bank – Prepping for the Post Pandemic Planet is our flagship initiative for 2020. It mobilises all to safeguard the disappearing knowledge of elders and districts, now further endangered by the Novel Corona Virus (nCov) aka COVID-19.
The first component, FEDs – Our Families, Our Elders, Our Districts, Bridging the Distance in Social Distancing is a quarantine-safe and social distancing friendly lifelong learning initiative. It amalgamates formal, informal and non formal education and community outreach techniques to capture and safeguard valuable endangered knowledge heritage. At the same time, it aims to strengthen the resilience of families and communities to COVID-19 as a quarantine- and social distancing-safe initiative. Further, it has inbuilt disaster mitigation and sustainable development components to help families and communities prepare for facing the potential escalation of the COVID-19, securing their families and communities and future the Post Pandemic Planet into the World We Want.
It will engage persons of all ages from three to 103 and while the pilot experiments were conducted with early childhood centres in Trinidad and Tobago, it has relevance and replicability for families and communities across the planet.

In step by step processes, I will unfold ways of using the fourteen days self-imposed exile or mandatory quarantine and thereafter to enhance our value to ourselves, our families, our communities, and our societies, our villages, interconnected as thy are to the global village, and here through our Global Local Caribbean GloCal Knowledge Pot.
The initial pilot experiments were conducted in small districts across metropolitan and small island Trinidad and Tobago and over the past six months have been presented in their various parts, peer reviewed and approved by international National Geographic Educators of which network I am a member.
As a hybridised human, of sorts – a birth miracle of natures and of breakthrough modern medical technologies and living proof of the capacity to adapt to testing extremes, I cannot but note this Novel C virus’ defiance and determination to undermine almost everything we believe are the core markers of or civilisation. But more of that later.
Why not use this time of self isolation and social distancing to inventory what we may have in our homes and districts from physical assets to talents skill and knowledge that could be repurposed or serve in the longer term in case the isolation is prolonged. Join me, subscribe as I unfold ways to do this, from family to villag eto global village. Together we build a resource Knowledge Bank we could draw on on times of emergency.
The stay-at-home mandate could do much more than just prevent the spread of the disease. It can accomplish what many see as the take away from this enigmatic scourge which spread is barely comparable to the raging wildfires that preceded it across various parts of the world devouring unquantifiable masses of natural forests and wildlife.

There may be more to that analogy, which I will explore in a subsequent post, on the value of the air we breathe, brought closely home to me not so long ago in my recent near respiratory failings, which is becoming all too evident now to those afflicted by this Virus that commandeers the respiratory system.

In the cut and thrust of a toxic political culture with a petticoat obsession that leaves many-a-knickers-in-a-twist, how is the USA treating with skews, biases and prejudices that persist in the political playpen and reflecting in its polling analyses, media outputs, advertising and campaign prospects?
