The pomp and hyperbole that accompanied it is not altogether unrealistic. It co-relates to how historic routeways have served the development of human civilisations.
The Demerara Bridge, flooded in golden light of sunset evokes Guyana’s legendary moorings around the colonial quest for El Dorado – the city of gold inspires my sharing this part of the EPIC Landscapes and Mindscapes of World Heritage and History – in which I reconnect primeval intersections that connect our East-West paths with our routes and roots in the world’s ancient corridors through beyond the Middle Passage of Slave, Silk and Indentured Immigrant Routes.
Indeed when we think of it, though it might not receive the kind of focus and investments a bridge might, chronicling and interpreting unfolding phenomenon and developing EPIC is not unlike the processes of building a bridge. Here’s how.
EPIC Landscapes & Mindscapes of Heritage & History Guyana Bridge East West Multiculturalism
Thought-engineering, leadership and adapting archival knowledge for ongoing relevance, might not attract the pomp, presence, support and investments for its preservation and perpetuation required as celebrating the immediacy of an event, but we press on. It continues the long traditions of knowledge gathering, barefooted and Brahminic or Buddhist begging-bowl in hand as the ancient scribes I invoked in recreating the journeys of the EPIC Landscapes and Mindscapes of Heritage and History – snippets below.
This EPIC, in the form of the world’s newest genre, the MultiMedia MicroEpic, which I created and am evolving, was inspired by pilgrimage through India earlier this year. As an offshoot of the acclaimed LiTTscapes – Landscapes of Fictionin EPIC, fiction and myth dissolve before the antiquity of history and heritage it chronicles, reinterpreting and reshaping our understanding for future generations.

Bridges – of Story and Stone
To construct a tale of our ancient evolving heritage is to build a bridge that crosses not just the tides of mighty rivers as the Demerara is in our parts, or the Ganges, Yamuna and Sone as I traversed in India as which recounts unfolds below. I am constructing a bridge that crosses time itself. And that is more than the gallows maker, church builder or even the gravemaker, as defined by Shakespeare – because my EPIC reach is across infinity to the end and re-beginnings of time.

EPIC as Constructing Bridges
So here’s why what I am doing, as Creator & Innovator, of the EPIC, similar to bridge construction.
I am building a bridge between Past and Present to have a clearer picture or vision of the future.
I am building a bridge to fill the gaps between our distorted knowledge system, drawing from the AuthenTHINK Intel of the past and contemporary lived experiences. This, to inform the future that will be driven to a large degree by Artificial Intelligence.
And so, I am building a bridge between this, the Age of the Anthropocene, nearing its end – yeah, as the human race self- annihilates, by crafting this EPIC guide to evolving into creative cyborgs who will strongly stride through the transition from that defective life form and stand the test of time.

Strategic Visioning
As is required to build enduring bridges, it begins with vision, which Dr Ali whose background is in public works, and his team revisioning Guyana’s development from its windfall, seem to possess in copious amounts.
As with a bridge, constructing the creative and cultural sectors, require the same precision, expertise and attention to detail that is required to build a bridge, and the ability to harness all the relevant components to create the results. Would you go into building a bridge with inferior materials?
Throw in the Towel and Trowel
I was tempted to throw in the towel and trowel earlier this week when asked, at the 23 and a half hour, to join a strategy planning session for an element of the creative sector. But we press on.
Among the challenges of bridge building, as in construction of an EPIC, is adapting uses of technology and technical know how in partnership with international entities without disrespecting traditional knowledge and know-how of the region.
As in bridge building, uses of technologies must each have local relevance to terrain, weather, wind patterns as is the case of building a bridge. It is a challenge that all regions across the globe reaching for alien technologies face when it does not engage cultural insights in adapting technologies, and to which our education system is oblivious, replicating and regurgitating being the common modus operandi.

Same Old, Same Old
Sitting in a room of local knowledge holders and experts in various capacities earlier this month, week succumbed to being-guided by imported, presumably paid consultants, brain-picking for constructing a national policy, and strategy for one of the creative subsectors. Resisting the urge to use ‘industrial language’ (LOL), I know in industry language, it is a dimension of crowd-sourcing and focus-group testing which are other terms for brain-picking, but this was not even at either of those stages. Rather, a few slides hastily thrown together informed by what seemed to be mainly internet searches of a subject which core knowledge is not online was a preschool prelude to disaster for strategic planning. The exercise smacked of old colonial modes of digging into our minds as resource-harvesting.
New Technologies on Old Processes
Because the Caribbean is a Zone of Peace and we are kindda nice people, most wanted to stay and help the process, justifying that the result will be a strategy for local benefit, some left early, recognizing in frustrating from the get-go how deficient, defective and ill-conceived its basic canvas was, evident from the first slide. Same old processes yield same old results, even if the technologies being imposed on the process are new.
It seems guaranteed to fall short on expectations without the necessary knowledge that is required to feed into this, nor sufficient ability to harness the same, as was evident to most in the room, many of whom have participated before in failed policy planning exercises like these in the past.
Conditions of Underdevelopment
The please-text-me-the-answer-to-the-philosophy-question kind of approach that I am familiar of even at the level of university students who are or would become teachers of other students – passing on this same stunted approach – so it is typical of the modus operandi that persists in highest corridors of agenda-setting decision-making and keeps us in our condition of underdevelopment. I am sharing this only to propel change, not score cheap points. The landscape is changing but we are not!
For instance, rather than honouring the studied and complex processes visioning entails, crafting the vision statement was left to the closing five minutes again like student texting requesting a oneliner on a complex subject. Visioning exercises require much more insight and knowledge than what was being presented to us. But that was only a few of the very many defective elements in the process that frustrated our efforts at open mindedly engaging with the process!

Ongoing Campaign
The exercises reaffirm my ongoing campaign that it there is absolutely no justification for using foreign consultants that only add and accumulate injury that are piled on our regional expertise. I hope the line authorities are taking note, and I am sure my followers will share and draw to their attention.
No wonder we cannot seem to get off from first base, while the rest of the region charges ahead, not holed into processes and bureaucratic practices that have failed, time and time again to the extent that all of our former Presidents, and that is knowledge that is not available online – to the foreigners and other head-pickers, busily googling or consulting Chat CPT to check what former Presidents have said about our failed and failing state, but from us on the ground who have been closely scrutinizing and interrogating leadership processes over the decades.

EPIC Bridge to Differences
My new world EPIC of Landscapes and Mindscapes of Heritage and History, bridges not just differences of space as the Demerara bridge does, but also time.
President Ali attempted to fill this gap by tagging it to the legacy element – of recognizing the contributions of time, effort, vision and strategy of former Vice President Bharat Jagdeo in appending his name to the bridge and recognize others who contributed to its development, including the foreign investments technologies and consultants by Chinese engineers and others.
That in itself is not in isolation and as my EPIC proves the engagement with eastern knowledge holders have been a crucial and critical element of historical exchanges in routes punctuated with bridges and like constructions. You have to read on and stay with the EPIC to see how this surfaces in the journeys I present.

New Holistic Knowledge Framework
The MultiMedia MicroEpic and its by product EPIC – Landscapes of World Heritage and History function as components of a holistic knowledge framework conceived and envisioned from a lifetime of scrutiny of knowledge gaps in our processes that warp decision-making and contribute to the development gaps we face today. They drawn from the collective conscience of those who went before! Association with CEIBA-EDUtainment and AuthenTHINK along with this the advocacy dimension of DEMOKRISSY and the portal and platform of the GloCal Knowledge Pot – are all part of the satellites meant to bridge various existing gaps – all of which require resources, investments and support to be a steady and steadfast asset for development.
Changing the Narrative
My EPIC endeavours also seek to bridge the gaps that exist in the manner in which the past is fed to us which diminishes our understanding of the future and is an important missing dimension in our resource stock. That means, they are working to correct the skews and fortify elements that bend and warp the structure and frameworks of our knowledge systems – that is misinterpretation, propaganda, pressure from perceived powers and the already distorted narrative and mental conditioning that choke off and inhibit new vibrant processes to prosper. They give mode and mechanism to President Ali and other regional leaders’ consistent lament on the need to change the local to global narrative.
I will develop this as a graphic too, as time and resources allow – aware the foreign consultants and better resourced others comb my outpourings and may already be doing so, to astound others with their fudged (ahem) I mean borrowed, wisdom.

Bridging Obstacles
My MultiMedia MicroEPIC – conceived and piloted without resources save imagination and intellect and access to minor technologies, at the height of the Pandemic Panic, when I withdrew from a power-crazed and ambition blinded public, to the bosom of ailing elderly Ma.
She is the Muse of my creative energies, even as I nursed her through her last days. The resource deficiency and lack of funds to acquire software and hardware necessary to compete and survive in the predatory pseudo-intellectual culture, are part of the obstacles I must scale – and often they loom higher and greater than the Great Wall of China or Hadrian’s Wall or the perceived wall between the USA and Mexico that the current US President envisages and continues to dream about.
Delays and Roadblocks
These would be considerable roadblocks and lead to project delays, if one did not have the creative vision to summon energies that otherwise lay dormant – and that equates to political will to see any project in the region get completed with maximum efficiency!

Bridging Distortions
My EPIC bridges the gaps of distortion of our heritage and history.
On the one hand, the blurred lines of myth and legend have in the colonial processes been used to feed misinformation and establish superiority and inferiority about knowledge systems and their many tributaries. There are many other demonic heads and hands of distortions I would not get into here, but which would unfold in the telling.
Straddling the dual shores as the multi-laned bridge, to face the crosscurrents of our multicultural multireligious, multiethnic past and pathways, my core strengths are rootedness and grounding in knowledge, built on experience to help stabilize our understanding of the uncertain present, defined as crises by Barbadian Prime Minister, Mama Mia Mottley.

Foundation on Impulse, Imagination & Intuition
My foundational impulse is imagination and intuition working in tandem with knowledge, experience and research to lay the groundwork and construct a foundation strong enough to bear the weight of memory, meaning, change and transformation that would occur over time.
Yes, knowledge too must stand the test of time, not sit on the shaky ground on which much of our science and unfolding media fads now stand, as every new piece of knowledge unearthed topples fast-held theories shoved upon us as new truths, all of which have contributed to warping our development path and entrenching inertia and underdevelopment. Wow! That’s true, ent?

Anchored Bedrock
Like the bridge builder, as chronicler and storyteller, my feet are on the ground, not in the air in high tower institutions that have lost sight and view of reality.
I have confidence and trust in the collective processes I have culled over the decades, and some maybe embedded in my DNA too, and the deep, often invisible foundations of the knowledge landscape.
These laser my abilities to penetrate beneath the surface, x-ray through layers of earth/dirt and lies decorated and coated from myths and lived experiences.

Call for Support, Investments
Like a soundly-constructed bridge, my EPIC is anchored in such bedrock. Its footings reach into the physical geological and metaphysical heart of culture, into truths that gives it Shakti-like indestructability. Hopefully, the tools it is developing through these processes for retrieval and reconstruction of memory can be matched by financial, technical and infrastructural resources will help it withstand erosion and rust that comes with forgetfulness and the deluge of new fads and fashion that threaten to bury our knowledge base into oblivion.
Creative Partnerships and Collaboration Opportunities with Dr Kris Rampersad
Adapting with Modern Tools & Materials
Designing my MultiMedia MicroEPIC, in the new form I am evolving involves adapting the long and winding epics of epochs past and condensing the long timespans of history into microseconds that our fast-food age demands, while maintaining the integrity – the curves of the storylines, the rhythm of the narrative to continue to pump with the pulse of our hearts. As in physical bridge building, it requires understanding and knowledge of balance and symmetry. Too much ornamentation would weaken the structure; yet if over-doused with austerity, it loses grace and appeal.
Engineering Ingenuity
Art, artistry and engineering ingenuity of bridge building on each format are essential and inseparable. It requires close appreciation of the value and language of tension and weight, of conflict and resolution. As as creator, creative architect, as chronicler, I must anticipate the stresses of time, the tremors of misinterpretation or reinterpretation that comes with the winds of change.
The materials for the bridge are stone and steel. For my craft, I have symbols, song, allegory embedded in and transforming the language I use. The choice of each element will speak to its resilience as much as to its ability to change the narrative to transform our futures from dependency to independence.
Cross Currents of Time
How the bridge swings and how its hinges sing when struck by wind, rain, floods, or even touched by vehicles or feet of commuters over centuries are all important considerations for its resonance, as an EPIC, into the cross currents of time.
As a bridge from blueprints, my EPIC bridge is crafted from the fingerprints, footprints and thought-prints of those who came before me, who thought first so we could create, developed and evolve not just theories but active mechanisms to shape and transform and as our time requires at this near end of the Anthropocene, evolving AuthenTHINK Intel as a counterpoint to inform Artificial Intelligence as we redirect the clogged paths and bottlenecks of our civilisation and evolve into the hybridised beings demanded of future resilience and survival. Yes, CEIBA-Cyborgs graduated from the CEIBA-Cyborg School of Humanism – coming soon! LOL).
Ultimately, my EPIC is a bridge between knowledge of our civilisations. In this first instance, I bridge instruments and mechanisms of Slave and Silk Routes with the added dimension we introducesdas the Indian Immigrant Routes, which can extend into Asian and other Migrant Groups – as the operative word is not just ethnic but the cross continental global migration phenomenon. Guyana Reshaping the New World Order PetroEconomics
Cemented with Experience
Those routes, converge the knowledge systems of ancient east and west, as I show in the social media snippet of my MultiMedia MicroEpic, leaving the longer folio and explanation for here, my blog, where I also stretched the form from just opinion and visual representation to the deeper thought process of comparison, analyses to inform and alter skewed policy, programme and other directions.
It will face the test of time. It will endure the rust of skeptics, the floods of temporal fads, the tremors of challengers; the gaps and distortions of translation, retelling, and adaptation.
Made with integrity of authentic imagination and initiation, blended with sound research and cemented with experience from my lifetime of readings, net-surfing, wanderings and globe-trotting, it may bend and bow to the thoughts and ideas and roadblocks of others, but never never break, nor surrender to mistrusts and mistruths.
Its time might not yet have come when it was first conceived, in the midst of the Pandemic Panic when, as the academic, media and other communities were just wiping the yampy off its eyes – and in many respect still is – not seeing the rapid avalanche of convergence descending.
I saw the imperative of evolving narrative form as essential to changing the narrative – to align and match and suit the encroaching age of multimedia and digitisation, as our ancestors adapted and adjusted over millennia and when they migrated to a new society – as Finding A Place, documents with excruciating closeness and clarity.

Audio-Visual Antiquity
In this year that opened on the canvas of India, I came face-to-face with the most primeval forms of audio visual creativity evolved from natural – perceived as primitive – sounds of nature, lines and scribbles of the natural order, represented in single dimension simplicity. They resonate EPIC proportions. Take a close look at the EPIC logo – the lines and curves that suggest the outlines of a face, a nose with nose-ring, painted lips and kohl-coloured eyes layered on the simplest and most primeval of sounds of wind and air and conch shells. These are labelled as primitive iconology, though they resonate infinity in ways our sophisticated systems of communication could only dream of – treated in the EPIC segment, This is Kashi City of Infinity.
Such simplicity collectively and in-continuum define our age, epoch, civilisations, engage the living landscape that we traverse daily, as the Demerara Bridge, often going without notice, yet essential to our natural movement and evolution as people, ideas, and spirit.
They predate the perceived complex thoughts and ideas now engaging the sciences, embedded in the mysticism injected into the hallowed halls of String Theory in Physics, for instance – which are merely close observances of natural everyday processes visible and within reach of us all.
Such is the substance of my EPIC renderings, one element of which the EPIC – Landscapes and Mindscapes of World Heritage and History that encompasses physical and metaphysical ‘scapes’ – not separately and in isolation, but in collusion of co-creative synergies to evolve regenerative wholeness.
The finest bridges may rust, decay, dissolve, disappear with time, so too, even the finest stories.

Epic Quest
To find a place where knowledge lives, even if we all ceased to be
That is the epic quest on which my biopic heroine embarked in the inaugural MultiMedia MicroEpic, One Night To Bloom. This became the inaugural piece introduced to the world at the Annual Commonwealth Scholars’ meet during the Pandemic lockdown. It was not the initial piece written for this EPIC, which was the Ode to the Anthropocene inspired by the Pandemic that continues to hold relevance even now the worst of the Pandemic may be behind us – That will be released, and unleashed too, soon.
Ultimately, these ramblings, and the pieces presented will cease to be separate works, eventually even losing individual identity of the creator, as they become absorbed by our creative, educational, culturation and knowledge producing and consumption systems and mechanisms and instrument, to be released into our collective consciousness embedded in the ground on which we thread.
Complex String Theory Simplified
For now I am only developing the seed, the kernel, the micro atom, defining the protons and neutrons and its preceding correlation of ‘strings’ that twang into promitive sounds that fade into absorb and are absorbed by infinity.
Its finest achievement may be how it enables us to balance – how we swing between shores, how we balance our choices between routes and pathways, how we identify who we were, who we are, who we are becoming and who we want to become.
Bridge of EPIC Proportions
To build a bridge of such EPIC proportions – as defined by President Ali in his glowing interpretation of what the bridge is – is, as building this EPIC. It is at heart an act of affirmation, an exercise of faith, a representation of reverence – a promise from the past, a gift to the future and the forms our future selves may take.
Takeaways for Decision Makers & Donors
Ways My EPIC is like constructing a Bridge to Eternity
EPIC Landscapes & Mindscapes of Heritage & History Guyana Bridge East West Multiculturalism
1. Building Thought Across Time and Terrain
Constructing a work as monumental as the Guyana Demerara Bridge demands not just steel, stone, and skill—but vision, endurance, and faith. Building this EPIC: a structure not of concrete and cable, but of thought, imagination, and collective memory as a bridge across time, cultures, and knowledge systems, to reshape understanding and guide humanity in an age increasingly defined by artificial intelligence.
2.Vision and Leadership
Every enduring bridge begins with a vision. So too the EPIC—born of foresight, guided by leadership, and grounded in the strategic integration of archival wisdom with contemporary insight. It is a design for relevance and resists obsolescence by continuously connecting what was, what is, and what might yet be.
3. Bridging Past, Present, and Future
This EPIC functions as a continuum of consciousness, spanning the heritage of the past, the living pulse of the present, and the evolving needs of the future. It mends the fractures in our collective story—filling knowledge gaps and correcting the distortions of history and heritage that have clouded our self-understanding.
4. Knowledge and Adaptation
Just as an architect studies the terrain before laying a bridge’s foundation, the EPIC adapts to the intellectual and cultural landscape it inhabits. It fuses ancestral wisdom with modern technologies, ensuring that the pursuit of innovation does not wash away the deep soil of tradition.
5. Obstacles and Resource Gaps
Like all monumental undertakings, the EPIC’s path is strewn with bureaucratic hurdles, resource scarcity, and institutional inertia. Yet it endures—propelled by imagination, perseverance, and the faith that even thought-bridges can rise from neglected ground.
6. Integrity and Endurance
The EPIC rests on a foundation of imagination, intuition, research, and lived experience—its pillars sunk deep in intellectual bedrock. Its purpose is to withstand the erosion of time, the corrosive tides of skepticism, and the floods of fleeting trends. It is designed to last, to hold weight, to carry forward.
GloCal Knowledge Pot AI Inclusive InterConnected Intergenerational graphs Knowledge Portal concept to communication
7. InterConnected, Integrated, Intergenerational and Inclusive
Connected initiatives—AuthenTHINK, CEIBA-EDUtainment, DEMOKRISSY, and the GloCal Knowledge Pot, Finding A Place MultiMedia Edition, LiTTscapes – Landscapes of Fiction MultiMedia Edition. These form the EPIC’s structural support base. Together, they create a holistic framework that bridges knowledge, policy, and intercultural understanding, reinforcing the entire span from foundation to farthest reach.
8. Changing the Narrative
At its heart, the EPIC challenges the inherited narratives that constrain growth. It offers a more authentic and inclusive account of civilization, enabling societies to see themselves not as footnotes in borrowed histories but as authors of their own evolving story.
9. Collaboration and Self-Reliance
This vision resists the easy lure of outsourcing transformation to foreign consultants. It insists that local and regional expertise—rooted in lived experience—holds the truest compass for charting sustainable change. The bridge must rise from its own soil.
10. Artistry and Engineering
Constructing the EPIC demands the same harmony of artistry and precision as any physical bridge: the balance of tension and release, symmetry and strength. Here, the materials are language, symbols, and narrative—shaped and interlocked to sustain the weight of meaning
11. Enduring Relevance
The EPIC aspires to permanence—not as a monument, but as a living structure, resistant to the rust of doubt and the passing storms of fashion. It stands ready for future generations to cross, exploring new territories of knowledge, identity, and transformation.
12. The Bridge of Mind and Meaning
Constructing this EPIC is an act of affirmation and of faith. It is a promise from the past, a gift to the future, and a living bridge meant to endure—connecting the landscapes and mindscapes of heritage, history, and hope. Just as the Demerara Bridge unites distant shores, this EPIC unites the divided geographies of thought—a bridge of consciousness built to carry humanity toward a more integrated, enlightened tomorrow.
