It replaced reverence for land with the new label of real estate to be sliced up and redistributed to pirates and profiteers
Awe of the sea, became law of the sea,
Across its empires, it planted on our landscapes the Holy Trinity of colonisation all meant to contain, control, reduce

Traditional sciences branded primitive, cosmologies conferred history as myth.
It promoted ‘merching’ (western slang for merchandising) of research, scholarship, awards and recognitions, production and dissemination of knowledge products and materials to perpetuate its belief system and for the commercial to benefit the knowledge economies of the Empires while crippling independent thought.
It trumped erasure of diversity and set the world to run on a monotonous drone of monocultural replication, regurgitation, repetition.
That one Minute still echoes today, through schools, books, replicated in digital education, hiring practices, law, justice, economics, politics, trade, culture
Now, as those empires crumble, we are confronted with the same processes of imposition and erasure, replication, regurgitation, repeating itself!
Its effect linger in law, governance, political practice, mercantilist economics, finance and trade.
The same theology of the Macaulay Minute are now being recoded in algorithms and binary renderings, programmed with shortsightedness in similar droning monotones for replication, regurgitation, repetition.
Its biases, prejudices, blindness embedding self-truncation pulses through social media channels, resonate through search engines, the existing stock of data banks.

And it would not take 200 years, greater than the power, velocity of the nuclear bomb, its impact and effect could be instantaneous.
We who have not yet fully recovered or processed the colonial experience, are now confronted with threats of a greater magnitude of cultural and intellectual genocide, multifold, in new form, looming up as the ever-present, all-encompassing Artificial Intelligence!
In one Macaulay Minute, entire civilizations were shifted from the centre of human evolution to the margins of erasure and dependence.
